i have decided to do a "what we're reading" post, which i am thinking will happen every month or so. Books are such a huge part of our everyday life; from the 6am barely opened eyes, squished in the bed, flap up story, to a recipe book to check which ingredients i haven't actually got. To the 5 min interiors flick through mid afternoon and then back to the squished in a bed reading bedtime stories book. As a family we pick up so many books throughout the day - and to me, you just cant beat a good book. I believe that story books are such a great way to let little imaginations blossom.
I try to store the children's books low down, either front facing or side facing so they easily seen and
accessible. This way they are clearly seen and reachable for not so tidy hands (they have no excuse to pull every single book out because they couldn't find the one they were looking for, Mama 1 - mess 0).
There are some really lovely children's books around at the moment, and Remy my youngest, is a real book worm and we happen to have quite a few. Here are some of our all times favourites which we always come back to and some new timers which we are in love with right now:
- We're going on a bear hunt - Micheal Rosen Helen Oxenbury
- Postman bear - Julia Donaldson Axel Scheffler
- Fox's socks - Julia Donaldson Axel Scheffler
- Dear Zoo - Rod Campbell
- The Gruffalo - Julia Donaldson Axel Scheffler
- What the ladybird heard - Julia Donaldson
- What the ladybird heard next - Julia Donaldson
- Bright Stanley _ Matt Buckingham
Gruffalos are my favourite and hunting for them is even better and brings the story to life. A great day at Bedgebury Pinetum with this gorgeous family # super quality #familytime❤️
